For the last time, I'll tell you how the story ends when we're married.

Telling stories is an effective mode of communication, because it involves the audience completely in the speaker’s world.  

The lecture reveals how the tricks used in film and books to hold attention are used to keep an audience spellbound.  We seek to develop a working knowledge of the techniques of storytelling and apply them by telling and retelling stories.

We will also apply the technique of story fragments to our individual messages, developing audience curiosity without necessarily telling a formal story.
